A Message from the CEO
posted on Monday, October 17, 2011 Dear Friends, This summer was an especially busy time for our HopeHealth Family. Throughout the summer, we attended many community health fairs, providing health screenings and education for the community. We also hosted a night at the Florence RedWolves Stadium in June, where we offered cholesterol and blood pressure screenings, information about HopeHealth, and a fun night of baseball for our employees and their families. In July, the 3rd Annual Black and White Gala: A Dining With Friends Event was held at HopeHealth Edisto. The event was sponsored by the Affair to Care Group. The gala was a tremendous success, raising $2,000 to enhance services provided by HopeHealth Edisto for individuals living with HIV / AIDS in Orangeburg, Bamberg, and Calhoun Counties. August brought about the opening of our new site on Cherokee, as well as an abundance of events. We held our annual Picnic in Timrod Park to celebrate Community Health Center Week, and we held an open house of our new branch office on the same day. The picnic featured refreshments, activities, and information about HopeHealth for the community; and the open house provided health screenings, tours of the new office, and an opportunity to visit with our doctors. Our annual Wine Tasting was held in September at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Buyck, Jr. Wine experts guided guests through the art of selecting and pairing wines, and some of Florence's top restaurants showcased their dishes at this affair. Our guests and sponsors helped us raise funds to support HopeHealth programs. As fall begins, we look forward to World AIDS Day and our 14th annual AIDSWALK, to be held at Central United Methodist Church on December 3. We hope that these events will be our most successful yet, as we strive to fulfill our original mission of helping those in the Pee Dee affected by HIV / AIDS. These events and the support of our community are essential to the services we provide in the Pee Dee, Edisto and Lower Savannah regions. I sincerely thank everyone for your continued support. Sincerely, Carl * This is a printer friendly version of the original page, made to save you ink and paper.
