Local and state organizations recognize HopeHealth staff for Exemplary Dedication to Service
posted on Sunday, January 15, 2012 Ann Mays, Front Office Manager at HopeHealth in Florence, was honored with the Front Office Employee of the Year Award at the South Carolina Primary Health Care Association (SCPHCA) retreat in December. This award is given to an employee who consistently goes "above and beyond" what is expected in her job and displays exceptional merit on a consistent, long-term basis. Ann Mays joined HopeHealth in June 2010 at the same time as Dr. Brian Hanna, Chief Medical Officer, whom she has worked with for more than five years. Ann manages nine clinical support specialists who work together to ensure patients receive a warm welcome and that our medical team is able to deliver care efficiently and smoothly. "I am honored to have been recognized at the primary care association retreat," Ann said, "but I share this honor with the staff who work with me every day to help our patients." Carl Humphries, who nominated Ann, said, "We have had a number of growing pains over the past year as we've converted to electronic medical records and opened two new offices. All our staff have demonstrated incredible poise and flexibility throughout this time. Ann's leadership has been a key component to keeping our staff and our patients happy throughout this period of tremendous growth."
The YMCA honored Margaret Love with the Tribute to Women of Influence (TWIN) Award at the end of October. TWIN recognizes gifted and talented professional women in industry, the medical field and education. "Margaret has been an incredible asset to our team at HopeHealth," said Carl Humphries, CEO. "She has incredible vision for new ideas, and the ability to bring people together to carry them out for the good of the community." Margaret joined HopeHealth in 2009 as the Public Relations and Development Coordinator, where she coordinated community health events like the National Health Center Week community picnic and the Health & Harmony Festival, which combines live music, wellness activities and family fun. In 2011, Margaret transitioned to a leadership role, acting as interim director at The CARE House of the Pee Dee, a child abuse advocacy center and subsidiary of HopeHealth.
