HopeHealth Edisto Awarded $30,000 through the AIDS United Fund Partnersposted on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 In January 2011, the AIDS United Fund Partners awarded HopeHealth Edisto $30,000 to provide VOICES (Video Opportunities for Innovative Condom Education) in low income housing complexes in Orangeburg County. The impact on the community has been overwhelming; the facilitators have provided service to over 125 participants and have been asked to provide HIV testing and educational workshops to teens and young adults. The VOICES grant has given HopeHealth Edisto the capacity to inform a high-risk community about HIV testing. Participants of these sessions have followed up on their acquired knowledge by coming to our clinic for HIV testing. Prevention and Outreach Coordinator Willie Simon and Prevention and Medical Case Manager Shiheda Furse have been instrumental in the success of this program.
