HopeHealth hosted Family Night with LaNorris Sellers
On May 16, 2024, HopeHealth hosted Family Night & Brinner with LaNorris Sellers. The event, held at Cornerstone Baptist Church, benefited HopeHeath’s Compassionate Care Fund.
HopeHealth’s Compassionate Care Fund contributes to unmet patient needs by helping them overcome barriers to health care. This support includes preventive health screenings, emergency assistance, and more.
Event sponsors attended VIP hour, where they met Sellers, the University of South Carolina Gamecocks Quarterback (and former quarterback for the South Florence High School championship team). Attendees took photos and asked questions about South Carolina football and his South Florence days. LaNorris shared about the importance of giving back to the community, stating it felt like “a dream come true” to host the event.
During the event’s general program, guests enjoyed breakfast for dinner and got to know Sellers through an interview-style Q&A session. Former South Carolina Gamecock Connor Shaw also made a special appearance at the event, speaking about his time with USC football and how the sport has impacted him throughout his life.
Charlee Rhodes, development and events coordinator, shared, “This is the first time we’ve hosted a Family Night and Brinner, and I’m happy to say the event was a definite success. We were able to shed light on our Compassionate Care Fund with the support of business and individual sponsors, volunteers, and LaNorris, a wonderfully talented athlete who is making Florence proud.”
The event was made possible in part by co-hosting sponsor McLeod Health. Additional supporters were Jebaily Law Firm, King Cadillac, MUSC Pee Dee Division, Richard Skipper State Farm, FBi Construction, Duke Energy, TD Bank, Northwestern Mutual, the families of Carl Humphries and Mark Vinson, and the families of Andrew and Mary Beth Lynch.
