Brian’s Story
Brian Wasonga loves playing soccer but when he was nine, a soccer injury to his leg limited the Kenya native’s ability to play. Without access to medical attention, Brian’s injury developed into a severe bone infection that almost destroyed his knee. Touching Lives Ministry out of Pennsylvania raised funds for Brian to come to the U.S. for treatment.
That’s when Brian met HopeHealth’s Dr. Michael Foxworth II, one of just a handful of pediatric infectious disease specialists in South Carolina. Brian, now 18, periodically returns to the US for follow-up surgeries and is currently spending two years here for treatment at HopeHealth.
