HopeHealth celebrates National Health Center Week

HopeHealth will celebrate National Health Center Week from August 4-10 with employee appreciation activities, advocacy efforts, community events, and more.

National Health Center Week is held every August to bring awareness to the importance of community health centers like HopeHealth. The celebration includes contributions from community health centers throughout the country, highlighting their missions and accomplishments while encouraging support for local centers.

This year’s theme is “Powering Communities Through Caring Connections,” focusing on connecting communities with health centers and elected officials. Employee and patient appreciation activities will be held throughout the week, and employees will be encouraged to take selfies and share them with the #NHCW24 hashtag during Social Media Day on Friday.

On the importance of National Health Center Week, Nicole Echols, director of external affairs, shared, “I am excited that we are celebrating National Health Center Week at HopeHealth, where we honor our commitment to providing quality care for all and advocate for the health and well-being of our community.”

Caitlin Guess, registered dietician/nutritionist and HopeHealth advocacy ambassador, shared, “Advocacy is part of the foundation of HopeHealth, and National Health Center Week gives us a chance to celebrate the work we do as a FQHC. I love that our events invite the community to connect with and learn about the organization in a different way than they might have otherwise.”

Additionally, Chief Pharmacy Officer Christi Epps stated, “National Health Center Week is an important time for recognition and celebration of community health centers, including our own. At HopeHealth, we provide the best in primary and specialty care for all patients. With the addition of the HopeHealth Pharmacy, we work to ensure patients can access their medications in a convenient, affordable way. Proceeds from the HopeHealth Pharmacy are reinvested back into our patients, allowing us to further our mission of serving others, giving hope, and changing lives.”

Additional details about individual National Health Center Week events will be forthcoming. For more information, visit hope-health.org or the HopeHealth Facebook page.

Being an advocate is as simple as letting your congressional representatives know the importance of the issues impacting community health centers. To learn more about advocating for HopeHealth and other CHCs, visit hcadvocacy.org.
